  An eclectic mix of thrift store furniture and yard sale bric-à-brac. Not typically my thing, especially when the room is $1,000 dollars per night (yes - that’s a comma). Walking the creaky, crooked, green carpeted hallways, lends a fun house feeling not normally associated with expensive hotels. The curious and creepy artwork makes the entire experience surreal. The decor was explained to us as 'Swiss' influenced. Which I now understand this to mean the owner is Swiss and had no money to buy new furniture nor fix up a hundred year old building. I have also come to the realization that the 50 five star reviews could only have been written by his 'Swiss' friends and family. On a positive note, the staff was courteous, the food good and the sheets clean. Ultimately, The Maidstone, like its art, is best left to the eye of the beholder. Though this beholder has seen enough.

  The bartenders are amazing, the food is top notch, and the atmosphere is beyond compare. Great for a date night any night of the week. The golf course and beach are great too; if you are staying over at the hotel. It's right at the start of East Hampton town if you wanted to spend a weekend in from the city; it's great to just take a walk or get some shopping done! I don't think you could find a better spot in the summer.

  We had a lovely tea in the garden today . A large selection of teas and nice little sandwiches, pastries and scones. The garden was beautiful; the hotel is odd and interesting. They extended our groupon to a third person which was generous (2 for 1 tea)
